2024 Come and Take It

ANNUAL COME AND TAKE IT CANOE RACE

Saturday, October 5, 2024

This is a family friendly event with races starting at 10:00am and the presentation of awards and prizes at 1:30pm. Please see race specifics below. 

FREE food and refreshments at the finish. Come & Take It!

Start at LAKE WOOD PARK, just below H-5 dam, F.M. 2091 South off Alt. 90, 5 miles west of Gonzales.

Mandatory portage on river left around City of Gonzales Dam, with a paddle to finish line through Independence Park.

13 miles down the Guadalupe River finishing at SANTA ANNA’S FORD (gravel bar at U.S. 183 bridge over Guadalupe) Independence Park.

The race is during the Gonzales Come And Take It Celebration on the weekend of October 7th.

The event starts promptly at 10:00 AM, race division start times below.

Boat numbers will be issued on race day.

Awards are given to the winning boats in each division.

The judge's decision is final.

On-site registration starts at 8:30 race day. Entrants receive swag bag, commemorative t-shirt, with food and refreshments at the finish.
