About the event

The Texas Winter 100k (TWO) launches it's 12th race from the banks of Lady Bird Lake (aka Town Lake) this coming January. The race will give paddlers a reason to get in shape and stay in shape throughout the winter.

SUP's can compete in the full 62 mile length of the course. We've added a SUP category at the registration, for solo and tandem SUP's. SUPs who enter in the full course must adhere to Adventure Class race regulations.

Compared to most of the weather in the canoe racing world of North America, Texas is quite pleasant, with average highs in the 60's and lows in the 40's for January. That said, the temps have been known to get down to 38 °F and up to 85 °F, so anything can happen. Rainfall tends to be fairly moderate, but this is Texas, so it's anybody's guess. The 2011 race was a bit cold and drizzly, the 2012-2021 races were warmer and sunny, so definitely plan on any conditions.

Racers may notice some similarities between the TWO and the Colorado River 100 race. In fact, the finish for the TWO is exactly the same as the starting location for the CR100: Fisherman's Park in Bastrop TX, tying the two together.
